How to share a windows drive to a remote computer

Sometime you want to share data placed on your local hard drive to a remote machine. In case of Remote Desktop application only Clipboard is shared.
But you can also share your whole drive with the remote machine.

Here is how you can do that.

1- First open Remote Desktop application from Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection.

2- Put the IP of remote machine and click Options button

3- On the next screen select the Local Resources tab

4- Click More button

5- You will see your drives in the list. Check the drive you want to share and then click OK

7- On the next screen, provide login/password of the remote machine  and press OK.

8- You will see a security warning and a checked list of resources will be shown which must show “Allow access to your local disk drives”. Press Yes.

9- Click Yes and you will see remote desktop. Provide the system username/password and login to the system. Your shared drive will be listed in My Computer of the remote machine
